Microsoft Windows is a brand of PC operating system families created by Microsoft. The consumer versions were first based on MS-DOS until the Windows NT kernel, originally designed for workstations and network servers, began being used for all of Microsoft's general purpose PCs. Windows 10, the latest in line, is thus the most popular PC operating system in the world. The Xbox One's operating system is also based on Windows.

Being a subsidiary of Microsoft, several games by Rare saw an original release on Windows 10. More recently, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were made playable on Windows 10 and mobile operating systems through Project xCloud, Microsoft's Xbox cloud gaming service.
