Template:Cleanup Nintendo is a Video Game company from Japan that Rareware was a second party developer for between 1985-2002. The Donkey Kong series was made by Nintendo and Rareware brought it back to life with Donkey Kong Country and made 2 other sequels for them. Nintendo was best known for Rares games on the Nintendo 64 such as Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Golden Eye 007, and Jet Force Gemini. As the Gamecube came rare started taking on Nintendo's Star Fox series releasing Star Fox Adventures and was planning on making Donkey Kong Racing. In 2002 Rare had to leave Nintendo because Microsoft bought them and Rare had to bring their franchises to the Xbox and now to the Xbox 360. The Donkey Kong and Star Fox series had to stay with Nintendo because it was originally theirs. Rare is currently not making any games for Nintendo consoles anymore, but they make them for their handhelds the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. Recently Rare has announced none of their titles are going to be on the Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii except for the Donkey Kong series. An online petition has been made for Nintendo to consider getting back Rare, the online petition has been made by Andrew gothicson [1]
