The Battletoads, or The 'Toads for short, are the three playable characters in the Battletoads franchise consisting of Zitz, Pimple and Rash. First appearing in the Battletoads (1991 video game), the trio are anthropomorphic, mutant toad space warriors who fight against the wicked Dark Queen and her forces to protect the universe. They have also appeared in other media, and have gained a sizable fan base.
