Zippo Games was an indie game development studio that operated during the late 80's and produced several for the Amiga and Atari ST computers, along with several Nintendo Entertainment System titles. After a while of making games for the Amiga and Atari, Zippo responded to an open call from Rare Ltd. for developers to work on titles for the NES while it was still new. As a result, Zippo formed a deal in which they would produce NES games exclusively for Rare. The studio would go on to develop several successful NES titles, but despite their successes it was difficult for the team to keep the studio afloat. Then, in 1990, Zippo Games closed up and became the new Rare Manchester studio.
