Nintendo VS. System is an arcade system developed by Nintendo in 1984. The system's hardware is based on that of the Nintendo Entertainment System's, featuring much of the console's chips and processors. All games that have been released for the VS. System are ports of NES games, some of which had been heavily altered to accommodate the hardware. The VS. System was released with three different configurations; an upright "VS. UniSystem" cabinet, an upright "VS. DualSystem" cabinet, and a sit down "VS. DualSystem" cabinet. The VS. System was also built with a focus on two-player co-op play, and could also allow for two different games to be played on different screens.
