Microsoft is an American technology company responsible for creating the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems and the Xbox line of home consoles. In 2002, their subsidiary, Microsoft Game Studios, bought the entirety of Rare for $375 million. Since the acquisition, Rare has exclusively developed titles for Xbox home consoles.
