The Nintendo GameCube is a game console released by Nintendo in 2001 as a successor to the Nintendo 64. The GameCube was the first Nintendo console to use optical discs as the primary storage medium, albeit with a miniDVD-based format as opposed to their competitors' full-sized DVDs or CDs. The console does however offer limited online gaming, and can connect to a Game Boy Advance with a link cable to access exclusive in-game features.
