Imhotep is horizontally scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Ultimate Play the Game in 1985, exclusively for Commodore 64 in United Kingdom. In the game, the player takes on the role of Imhotep, who has to navigate his way through hostile lands to find those who can help save the Ancient Egypt from a great famine. To that end, the player has to first navigate a bird flying over the landscape, shooting down enemies who are also flying on birds. After flying for a certain distance, Imhotep will disembark from the bird and the player will have to guide him through the landscape on foot, avoiding obstacles, enemies and enemy projectiles.
