Digger T. Rock: Legend of the Lost City
Digger T. Rock: Legend of the Lost City is a platformer video game developed by Rare Ltd. for the NES in 1990. For the game, the player takes on the role of miner Digger T. Rock, who is spelunking down a series of caves and catacombs in search of the fabled Lost City. To that end, Digger has to use various tools to explore eight caverns while avoiding enemies, cave-ins and fatal falls. The goal of each cave is to find the end door that leads out of the cave and the special pillar that unlocks the door. When the player finds the pillar, activating it will open the door but also activate a timer, which indicates how long the player has before the door closes again. There are many different bonus levels in between the main caves where the player can gather more resources, and later levels feature caveman villages where the player can buy new tools in exchange for treasure.
